Soothed by the Wise Whispers of Maternal Moon, I gazed into the Face of the GoddessSoothed by the Wise Whispers of Maternal Moon, I gazed into the Face of the Goddess'Soothed by the Wise Whispers of Maternal Moon, I gazed into the Face of the Goddess' is a complex design incorporating a text of my own composition. The overall form is based on the mystical symbol 'om' of meditation. The anuswara (dot) of the 'om' itself contains the Sanskrit mantra 'om namaha shivaya' (om, I bow to Lord Shiva). The Indian deity Shiva, though traditionally portrayed as male, represents the ideal balance of masculine and feminine. Shiva is also intimately linked with the Moon, and famously dances the universe into and out of existence, thus forming an interesting parallel with Mother Nature, the benevolent Creatrix who is also the brutal Destroyer.
