Speed-Acrylics Workshop: Animals, Newmarket, Sat 2nd July 2016

May 19, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

Lois Cordelia leads another of her increasingly popular series of speed-painting workshops, this one themed on animal portraits.

Lois encourages you to let go conventional ideas about realistic colour and obsessive detail, and instead be expressive and spontaneous with colour, launch into bold, sweeping brushstrokes on a large scale, and communicate more with less. The focus will be more on freedom of expression than on achieving an accurate likeness, though Lois will be happy to give advice on both. Prior experience of portrait painting is helpful but not essential. Ideal workshop for beginners and anyone wanting to loosen up their painting style.

Feel free to bring in some animal portrait photographic references of your own if you would like, or choose from a wide selection on offer on the day.
