Inspired by my
university dissertation study on Arabic
calligraphy, and particularly by
attending a class taught by the Chinese-Arabic
calligrapher Haji
Noor Deen.
N.B. I make no claims to be an Arabic
calligrapher - it usually takes thirty
years of daily practice to become a
master calligrapher in Arabic!
Nevertheless, I have tried my hand at
capturing something of its spirit of
fluency in this piece, which I conceived
as being reminiscent of the shape of a
tree. |
