On June
21st 2007, I was fortunate to have the
opportunity to join in an art event
organised jointly by the National
Gallery, London, and the Expedia travel
company. The event was called "Blue
Sky Day: Be Inspired", and the aim
was to paint a picture of something that
inspires you onto a "Blue Sky"
canvas, featuring the familiar Expedia
logo. I chose to paint a portrait of the
spiritual Master Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov (1900-1986), whose
teachings have been a great inspiration
in my artwork as well as more generally.
Among other things, Aivanhov taught about
the spiritual significance of the Summer
Solstice (the longest day of the year),
the sky, the Sun, the rainbow, and the
seven spirits of the colour spectrum.
Here, he gazes up into the heavens and
the Sun.
The painting was completed during the 3
hour painting session at Trafalgar
Square, London, where I was present along
with 199 other artists.
Original painting (mounted canvas):
£100. Prints also available. Please contact me for further
details. |
