This portrait was
commissioned to be featured in a short
film drama ("Habibti", March
2010), supposedly as a portrait of the
mother of one of the characters, himself
an artist. It was loosely based on a
photograph. The following sequence of
images show how the portrait was
gradually built up in layers of colour. |
For the purposes of
characterisation in the film, the eyes and
boldness of colours in the portrait were then
exaggerated and emphasised:
