From
life, using a mirror, taking approx. 4
hours. Before beginning to paint, I spent
many hours experimenting with lighting
effects, before settling for this
chiaroscuro style portrayal, in which the
lighting is quite different on each eye.
This made it challenging and interesting
to paint.
