Priest of the Sun and Priestess of the Moon

Title: Priest of the Sun and Priestess of the Moon
Medium: Modroc (Plaster), Fimo, Wire, Paint, wooden bases
Dimensions: Height 28cm
Date: Summer 2006
Comments: A pair of sculptures representing the balance of the masculine and feminine in the cosmos. The Priest of the Sun carries a spear, a masculine symbol. The Priestess carries the Crescent Moon in her headdress. The Moon is a feminine symbol par excellence. She holds her hands in a gesture derived from Rastafarian symbolism, representing the downward pointing triangle of the Star of David. The Star of David itself consists of a pair of equal interlocking triangles, symbolic of the masculine and feminine, or active and passive principles of creation.

Original pair of sculptures: £120. Please contact me for further details.
