Moon Goddess (or "The Veils Of Isis"), version ii

Title: Moon Goddess (or "The Veils Of Isis") version ii
Medium: Silhouette paper-cut in back paper. Cut by hand using a scalpel.
Dimensions: Framed size: 53 x 33 cm. Unframed size: Approx. 40 x 25 cm.
Date: September 2008
Comments: Isis is the Egyptian great Mother Goddess, symbolising truth, wisdom, and fertility. Her symbol is the Moon. The veils of Isis, which I have suggested in this image as echoes of the crescent Moon, are the illusions that prevent us from seeing the naked Truth. The rhythmic line patterns could also suggest the Moon's gravitational field and pull on the Earth's oceans.

Original silhouette paper-cut, framed: £80. Prints also available. Please
contact me for further details.
