Medium: Silhouette paper cut-out in black paper, scanned and coloured on Adobe Photoshop. Original cut by hand using a scalpel.
Dimensions: Original paper-cut, framed: 47 x 37 cm. Original, unframed: 29.5 x 21 cm.
Date: Autumn 2006
Comments: The phoenix is the mythical bird that periodically burns itself to death on its own funeral pyre before rising rejuvenated from the ashes. It may symbolise the immortal human soul, constantly reborn.
