Loïs Cordelia | Drawing Workshops (Mixed Media) with Lois Cordelia

Drawing Workshops (Mixed Media) with Lois Cordelia

Fun experimental workshops focussing on improving and loosening up your drawing skills, using a wide range of mediums including graphite pencil, soft pastel, charcoal, coloured pencils, brushpen, acrylic marker pens, and so on (N.B. we may not use all of these in a single workshop). Themes may include portraits, natural forms, intuitive approaches to perspective, and so on. We will work either from actual specimens, or loosely based on photographic references - feel free to bring some of your own. Beginners welcome.

N.B. Workshop prices vary - please click relevant links to see current prices for each workshop venue - many thanks!

Peter ToshPeter ToshMedium: Pastel on mid-tone paper.

Dimensions: Approximately A3. 420 x 297 mm

Date: May 2005

Comments:
Peter Tosh (1944-87) was a close friend and colleague of Jamaican reggae artist Bob Marley (1945-81). Together with Bunny Wailer (born 1947), they formed the pioneering group The Wailers. Of this trio, Tosh was perhaps the most sombre, reflective and intense. He seems to capture the spirit of the biblical Sampson, the dreadlocked Nazirite whose mighty strength lay in his long hair. Like Sampson, Tosh was a formidable foe to his enemies, aptly nicknamed the 'Stepping Razor'. Tosh was brutally murdered during a burglary at his home on September 11 1987. Loosely based on a photograph.
