Q. Do you offer bespoke artwork commissions?
A. Yes! Please contact me (see above) to discuss your individual needs.
Q. Can you work from a photograph?
A. Yes, as long as it's reasonable quality, a decent size, and doesn't become heavily pixelated if you zoom in a bit. Please note: I always offer more than what a camera, scanner, Photoshop or AI can do.
Q. Can you combine several photographs or images on one canvas?
A. Yes. If you send me a number of photos, I can create an approximate digital mock-up to help us both see how the composition will work best to incorporate all the images.
Q. Can you create this in a particular style? Can you copy the style of another artist?
Perhaps you've already seen some examples of my wide range of painting and other artwork styles, if not please have a look in my online galleries to make sure that my work appeals. Let me know if you particularly like any of the examples of my previous work, as that's very helpful in terms of guiding me in the context of your bespoke artwork. I have often mimiced a specific style, though I should point out that every artist has their own unique style or voice.

Q. How much does it cost for a bespoke commission, portrait, painting, pet portrait, etc.?
This varies a lot, depending on scale, medium, materials, style, level of detail, research, and urgency/timeframe. If you have an ideal budget in mind, please let me know, as that always gives me a good idea of what's most feasible within that. My average fee range for bespoke medium sized commissions is between £300 to £900. I am always open to discussion and do my utmost to accommodate every budget. On occasion, I may need to simplify or reduce the level of detail slightly to accommodate a smaller budget, but I never compromise on quality. If I am posting the artwork to you, then I will need to factor in the cost of secure, tracked courier delivery.
Q. Can I pay in installments?
A. Yes. I'm happy to discuss whatever payment terms work for you.
Q. Do you take a deposit?
A. Yes. I generally take a small (non-refundable) deposit payment in advance, to cover initial costs and secure the commission, with the remainder payable onlu upon satisfied receipt of the finished artwork.
Q. How long will it take? Can you meet my deadline? Can you get this done in 2 weeks?
A. My average turnaround time for bespoke commissions is between 2 to 4 months, as I typically juggle a number of projects at the same time. Please let me know if you have an urgent deadline to meet. I will always do my best.
Q. What payment methods do you accept? How do you take payment? Can I send a cheque in the post?
A. I can accept payment via cash (in person only, please), PayPal, direct bank transfer, or via cheque. If you are posting a cheque, I may need to wait until the cheque has cleared before proceeding further.
Q. Do you offer framing? Can you frame my picture?
A. I don't generally offer framing, for several reasons: partly as it would make the artwork a lot heavier and therefore increase the courier fee considerably, partly as frames can get easily scuffed or damaged in transit, and partly as I would always recommend that the best option is for you to take the finished artwork to a professional local framer and actually have it in your own hands while getting their expert advice on styles and colours of frame moulding to suit the artwork, also taking into account your home decor.
Note: If I work on a stretched canvas, I should point out that you have the option of hanging it straight on the wall without a frame (obviously also with the option of getting it framed at a later point when you've had a chance to see the picture in situ and consider what might look best to accentuate it). A stretched canvas (also called a box canvas) has an integral/inner wooden frame (over which the canvas is stretched), so it's very easy to hang (also relatively lightweight).
