Comments: First (paper) wedding anniversary gift commission, incorporating a number of elements of the traditional Orthodox wedding ceremony, including the symbolic crowns held over the heads of the couple, the arch of flowers, and candles. At the feet of the couple, the church in which they were married, and the Arc de Triomphe where they got engaged. A string of figures around the base represents wedding guests dancing the Greek Kalamatiano dance. The whole composition stands on an open book, evoking the couple's mutual love of reading
