Izzy Lane and Diana Ben-Aaron will interview local Ipswich artist Lois Cordelia on their Friday breakfast show on Ipswich Community Radio (ICR FM 105.7 fm), at 8.00 am on Friday 13th May 2016.
Lois was last interviewed on the show in April 2015, since when she has become increasingly involved with a wide range of art projects in Ipswich, across East Anglia, and beyond, performing live art demos and presentations, establishing a successful new Ipswich life drawing class, collaborating with the local Ipswich Cycle Cafe on children's workshops and art displays, and creating illustrations for books and journals at home and abroad. Lois's work is extremely varied, ranging from intricate paper-cuts created using a surgical scalpel blade, to "speed-painting" in bold acrylic colours, and expressive mixed media sculptures. Lois says: "People often ask me which medium I like best. The answer is, whichever I'm using at a particular moment. I like to balance myself out with different styles and mediums. It's like switching between different languages, to keep your brain active!"
She will be talking with Izzy and Diana about some of her recent and current projects, including the dramatic album artwork she created for Ipswich prog-rock band Habu's new album, Infinite (release date: April 29th 2016), her involvement in the Ipswich Pigs Gone Wild Summer 2016 art trail, and a few highlights of her upcoming series of live art demos in Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire.
