A trail of more than 30 giant Heart statues launches today (10th June 2023) in Lincoln, UK. The HeART Trail features a mixture of bespoke and painted sculptures, and supports St Barnabas Hospice, which helps care for 12,500 patients every year.

Artist Loïs Cordelia was among the artists commissioned to create bespoke Hearts. She writes: "When I first saw the Heart sculpture, I thought immediately of a heart locket, as a symbol of something precious, a place to preserve treasured memories and keepsakes. Creating a Heart Locket on a theme of Love Lincolnshire is quite a challenge. I'm building it mostly out of wire and metal, attaching items of significance including small pin badges from my wonderful sponsors at the Lincolnshire Coop, as well as found items, upcycled jewellery, and so on."

Loïs's sculpture is now on public display in the picturesque setting of the Lincoln Cathedral Gardens until 4th September.

Visitors are encouraged to add a 'love lock' padlock to the sculpture.
